A source with knowledge of the investigation tells me the FBI has targeted from 28 up to 42 individuals. Watch @KeithOlbermann tomorrow AM
and Palmer Report:
Reports for the past few weeks have painted the federal investigation into Donald Trumps Russia scandal as have a far wider reach than previously believed, with one RICO case involving a number of targets, and one FARA case involving a far larger number of targets (link). Now come the numbers: a total of at least twenty-eight individuals have been targeted by the FBI in these investigations.
That information comes by way of Democratic insider Claude Taylor, who was the first to report on the grand juries already in progress, which was later confirmed by Republican insider Rick Wilson. Taylor is now revealing that A source with knowledge of the investigation tells me the FBI has targeted from 28 up to 42 individuals (link). This represents an eye popping number which clearly goes well beyond the four or five Donald Trump campaign advisers who have been widely reported to be under FBI investigation. So how can there possibly be so many targets of the investigation?
RICO cases usually involve money laundering and/or organized crime, meaning that any number of Donald Trumps political and business associates could be wrapped up in it. There have long been stories of Trumps Russian business associates living in Trump Tower, for instance. The FARA case centers around the Foreign Agent Registration Act, and ostensibly targets U.S. citizens who knowingly took money from foreign government sources without reporting it.
The FARA case is supposed to be the larger of the two, perhaps suggesting that a far larger number of Trumps campaign advisers took Russian government money, or that Republican politicians outside Trumps campaign may have taken Russian government money. In any case Taylor says to watch Keith Olbermanns online video broadcast on Friday morning for further details on the twenty-eight or more FBI targets in the Trump-Russia scandal.

(3,997 posts)Combs through the tweets of the Jester, Claude Taylor, John Schindler, Louise Mensch, Malcolm Nance, et al and regurgitates the info that they say they get from "intelligence sources". Have to say, they have been on the money all along. Mensch likes to speculate and postulate theories and scenarios, but does qualify them as her opinion, rather than the pieces of reporting she does.

(35,454 posts)Proved Claude Taylor was right about the juries so I'm willing to hang on and see what happens. So far Claude & Louise have been on the money. Also, I know Mr. Wonderful Schneiderman has been after 45 for a while and if anyone has a shot at 45 he does.

(43,128 posts)Citizens United was bad enough. All this foreign influence, perhaps money laundering,
slush funds - they all aided incumbents who would take the cash.
Let this lead wherever it may. Let them get every last culprit. If we are weak or
rudderless for awhile, so be it. The way the screws have been turned on the little
guy, the hourly workers, the career laborers, the families, the kids and grandparents ...
this is un-American.
We need big, strong, bold selfless career servants to level the playing field.

How can he do that?
They let the investigation run so as to catch them all.
If this OP has depth to it. We are witnessing our justice system, our tax
dollars, doing its job. Is this possible? I'm pinching myself. Hard. In many
places.
