and each and every one is full of comments calling him or her out.
Not one reply in support.

(3,789 posts)The local news channel FB page was filled with Trumpies who LOVE this bill. They're all complaining of paying 5-10k a month Premiums under Obamacare. Plus they want their junk plans back.

(89 posts)I suspect that the reason the congressperson's Twitter is flooded by negative posts and the tv station FB is flooded with positive posts is because the people who love this don't have the slightest idea who their Congresscritter is, they couldn't pick the name off of a list of one. The only name they know is Trump.
Those of us against this monstrosity have made a point of educating ourselves.

(17,006 posts)It will give them plenty of time to brush up their resumes and start considering their next career. We will vote them out.

(6,043 posts)from the beneficiaries of the bill--the billionaires getting the tax break and their spawn who won't have to pay any federal estate tax.
They clearly don't work for their constituents
I think the anti-women stuff is also partly for the Republican representatives own pleasure. they really resent women.

(6,916 posts)The political motivation of huge tax cuts for the rich is clear - the Kochs and Waltons and Adelson etc are investing in GOP politicians in order to get a return of tax cuts that put money in donors' pockets.
The political motivation for political attacks on women is much less clear. Women are a big voting bloc, to state the obvious. GOP might get some votes from misogynistic men for attacking women, but I can't really think men's votes outweigh all the women they alienate.
Maybe GOP thinks that since Trump wasn't hugely harmed by bragging about assaulting women, that GOP women will still vote GOP in 2018. I think that would be a huge miscalculation.

(7,581 posts)In upstate NY. Most FB posts get 3 comments. She has two posts on Trumpcare - one has over 500 comments, one has over 700. Unbelievable. She must be shitting herself.

(24,259 posts)The comments you linked to gave me more hope. Other than a few ignorant idiots (who are probably clueless that they just were had) they're mostly going after her hard for this vote. If this is reflective of her actual constituents I think we have a good chance if the Dem candidate is similar to Owens.

(6,916 posts)How can any 30 year old woman who is smart enough to go to Harvard get into today's GOP? Being a Republican is a recipe for disaster. The GOP donors have systematically chased out all the smart ethical GOP members.
Look at who's left: Ryan, Nunes, Burr, Grassley. Look on the Dem side: Schiff, Warner, Pelosi, Warren.
The Dem side has a bunch of smart, impressive people. The GOP side has morons. That's what GOP donors want - morons are easier to buy. Smart people with principles can't be purchased with campaign cash quite so easily.
