Revenge is a Meal Best Served Cold

Yesterday, when the House votes had been tallied and the Republicans passed their sadistic tax cut disguised as a health care bill, I sat down and cried. When I saw the Republicans and Trump celebrating their "win" I unleashed a string of obscenities at the TV that would make your hair stand on end.

I am still fuming but from past experience I know that the best way to deal with such adversity is to take a little time to mourn, to rant and rage, and then to sit down and devise a cold and calculating plan of attack.

And so, I am reaching out to all of you to brainstorm ideas to inflict maximum political retribution on House Republicans who voted for this bill and to apply maximum pressure on the Senate to block the Republican game plan to move access to affordable health care backwards for millions of Americans. Nancy Pelosi was right when she said that the House Republicans will have their votes tattooed to their foreheads. It our job to make every politician who aids the effort to undermine health care radioactive and to find and support viable candidates to run against them.

And in that effort, I propose some ideas:

If your representative voted YES on the AHCA, call their office and voice your objection to their vote and inform them you WILL hold them accountable. They need to know that we are paying attention.

24 of the Republicans who voted YES on the AHCA represent districts that supported Hillary Clinton for president. You can help fund the campaigns of Democrats running against these vulnerable Republicans through a donation through Act Blue. See the link below for more information.

Attend a town hall meeting. You can check to see if there are any scheduled town hall meetings in your area at the link below. If you have a personal story about how the repeal of the ACA affects you and your family, consider sharing it. Putting a face to the cruelty that the Republican's destruction of the ACA is an effective tool in battling their efforts. Record video and post online.

Donate money if possible, and volunteer for Democrats running for the House and Senate.

Please post your feedback and ideas. Lets start cooking up a big platter of political blow back for the cretins who are working to rollback health care.

is that the entire GOP is taking Trumpy's hit on this. Trumpy spread his vulgarity and his sociopathy to the rest of the GOP. The "resistance" now has ample reason to spread its vitriol beyond Trumpy's evil behavior and to the rest of the GOP. I was actually hoping for a visible, clearly understandable action that would bring this issue home to the rest of the nation.

This is it.

It's the entire GOP that's sick and evil and twisted. Until now, the GOP remained a silent partner with Trumpy.

No more.

only backwards.

You know, this is exactly the same thing the Rs did to us in 2010 and 2014. We probably will take back the House next year, and the Senate either next year or in the election after that. Then we will come up with a bill that the other side will hate, and we will lose seats, and back and forth we go.
