The diagnosis was a rare, congenital cancer. My friend was devastated, and the child died when only two years old. Everyone who knew my friend was horrified, except this one guy. His question to me, when informed of the diagnosis was, "What did she do to cause her baby to get this disease?"
That was the last time I ever spoke to that person.
That is what the Republican Health Care bill is like. It is like that clueless person - neither understands a damned thing.

(15,224 posts)You see, if they can BLAME someone for something happening to that someone, then they (Republicans) feel safe that it won't happen to them.
That mentality is, obviously, flawed and cruel.

(82,849 posts)You know, Jesus was asked that very question. You know what he said? He said that neither the baby nor the baby's parents did anything wrong, but this baby is here so that God's compassion can be called forth and made manifest. You're looking to affix blame, rather than offer assistance or support. How does that fit your philosophy of compassion, assuming you have one?
