A thought concerning guns.

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by DonViejo (a host of the General Discussion forum).

I have seriously thought about going into a gun shop here in my red county and act like I want to get a gun. As I do this I would tell the gun shop people that I just found out that I can get a gun even though I am bipolar and have paranoia schizophrenia. I feel that it should be legal for me to have a gun to protect myself because people are always bothering me and hiding all over the place to spy on me and I know that that the elementary school across from me has trained those little brats to spy on me for the government.

Now, since it is law that you have to sell me a gun I want to get a gun that needs as little reloading as possible along with quick fire.

How do you think these redneck red county gun shop people are going to react? They voted in the president who allowed the mentally ill to get guns.

I really do not want a gun but the thought has crossed my mind to do that just to see gun lovers reactions.

No law says a gunstore HAS to sell you a gun. They might not be legally disallowed from selling you a gun, but as a private business they can decide to deny you service for whatever reason they like.

After they tell me no I would then say that there are a lot of people I know just like me ( even the ones hiding ) who now are going to get guns and now I will let them know not to say anything. As I walk out I can also say that somebody will sell me a gun even if they will not.

This is mostly something to do to find out how those gun freaks "actually" feel about the severely mentally ill being allowed to get guns.

Report back to us with what actually happened.

Now, since it is law that you have to sell me a gun I want to get a gun that needs as little reloading as possible along with quick fire.

There is no law that says they have to sell you gun. You might want to do a little homework on that before you launch your experiment.

gun lovers minds when they cheered about this. As far as what I was saying about the gun I was trying to make it sound like I did not know anything about them because it is scary when people who have no clue how to use them or what each gun has the ability to do.

Allowed to purchase a gun, having a disqualifying Factor.

Hopefully you would also be reported for threatening a school.

No threat to the school was made, merely an observation about the children at the school, regardless of how inaccurate the observation may or may not be. They are two different things.

And would rather have a person making such comments investigated than have a tragedy occur knowing I might have been able to intervene to prevent it. YMMV

" Bias can often compel us to read what is not there..." Like claiming "it is law that you have to sell me a gun"?

Tell them I have a mentally ill person in my shop threatening violence against adults AND children, can you get here quickly please, and BTW, I have the whole conversation on HD video and audio.

And then lets see you talk your way out of that. I am sure you could be charged with something, or at least put on an involuntary psychiatric hold.

Which depending on how well or how badly you explain yourself, might just result in a temporary, involuntary visit to a psychiatric facility.

I wouldn't advise going in and acting unstable.

I use guns in my job and even I get nervous going to gun stores and ranges.

Be careful.

From the SOP of the General Discussions Forum:

GUNS

News stories (and related content) from reputable mainstream sources about efforts to strengthen or weaken gun control legislation in any jurisdiction in the United States, national news stories (and related content) from reputable mainstream sources about high-profile gun crimes, and viral political content from social media or blogs that would likely be of interest to a large majority of DU members are permitted under normal circumstances.

Local stories about gun crime and "gun porn" threads showing pictures of guns or discussing the merits of various firearms are not permitted under normal circumstances and should be posted in the Gun Control and RKBA Group.

Open discussion of guns is permitted during very high-profile news events which are heavily covered across all news media.
