1. How bizarre

Article did not explain why except for they would have to charge more.
Not enough of an excuse. Why would the cost go up?

Just as a note - I like the Skippy extra crunchy.

2. OK, I see a home-based export business opportunity here.

Superchunk man here.

Rainbow Grocery, my health food store, has machines that grind out fresh nut butters. I got a container of the fresh almond butter yesterday.

3. Full of sugar

Only buy peanut butter with two ingredients peanuts and salt. Or just peanuts if your nuts.

4. Skippy is the sweetest and nastiest of all commercial PBs.

Peter Pan is a close second.

Less like peanut butter and more like peanut-flavored candy paste.

14. Yeah, I don't think I could stand the taste

of that type of peanut butter anymore, despite growing up on it. Just the thought of it makes me shudder.

Our grocery store has grinders so our peanut butter is just peanuts. Nothing else, not even salt (which of course can be added if we want). The oil separates and you stir it in when you use it. I'm not a purist food snob or anything, but some things should just be what they are!

5. I agree completely!

I can't stand the other stuff. Nothing like a peanut butter, crunchy, and strawberry jam sandwich on toasted raisin bread,

7. Exactly

It is the Walmart of peanut butter. I understand a weird cult following, but overall, the public should be pleased.

It is like missing Kraft grated cheese or Miracle Whip.

Me on a dark street corner to passing strangers:

"Hey buddy, wanna buy some black-market Skippy? $10 a jar, eh?"
