Not enough of an excuse. Why would the cost go up?
Just as a note - I like the Skippy extra crunchy.

Rainbow Grocery, my health food store, has machines that grind out fresh nut butters. I got a container of the fresh almond butter yesterday.

(840 posts)Only buy peanut butter with two ingredients peanuts and salt. Or just peanuts if your nuts.

(4,959 posts)of that type of peanut butter anymore, despite growing up on it. Just the thought of it makes me shudder.
Our grocery store has grinders so our peanut butter is just peanuts. Nothing else, not even salt (which of course can be added if we want). The oil separates and you stir it in when you use it. I'm not a purist food snob or anything, but some things should just be what they are!

It is like missing Kraft grated cheese or Miracle Whip.
