I find myself thinking about this MLK quote more and more these days.

Let no man pull you low enough to hate him.

After a week of seeing people act positively giddy after taking an action that could ultimately leave millions of Americans in mortal danger, watching our nation's commitment to human rights weakened, and seeing continued and sustained acts of discrimination and bigotry (which in some cases are done through official actions), I'm not sure I can hold out much longer.

I wake up every morning hoping for some good news, But no chance so far. Their behavior is beyond disgusting.

The Arc of the Moral Universe Is Long, But It Bends Toward Justice

Wish it could be shown daily, but there appears to be a fits and starts quality to it.

Much rather spend it opposing them. I do, however, keep waiting for the Twightlight Zone music to start playing.

You don't practice non-hate because they don't deserve to be hated. You practice non-hatred because YOU deserve peace.

There have always been evil people, and yes, there always will be evil people. Sometimes they hide, sometimes they're quiet, sometimes they're sneaky...but they're always there. Nothing has changed this week except your perspective, which became aware that there were a lot more enemies out there than you were aware of. We'll get through it together though, so try to keep your peace of mind as best as you can, and if they come for you...don't go alone.

No matter HOW they come for you.
