4. I have another calc app, so it came as a big surprise that the iphone cal converts to scientific

mode, if you merely turn it to landscape. DUH... I'm guessing most people knew this, but damn,, I sure didn't

The backspace feature was also a new one for me.

My other calc app is cool because it acts like an old time business calculator (you see the running "tape" on the side), which makes it easy to check for errors when calculating complex doses and infusion rates, as I do daily. Handy. But, darn, the standard app is much better than I realized.

9. I found that out accidentally one day while grocery shopping.

Tallying up my purchases before I hit the register. Set the phone down in the kid seat on the front of the cart, and it went landscape with all the scientific functions.
