Breaking News: Next Election 3 Years Away

And I could give a rat's ass about who should be our next fucking candidate. You know why? BECAUSE IT DOESN'T MATTER IF WE CAN'T FIX THE SYSTEM BEFOREHAND!!!!

So stop promoting all these people. Stop creating a cult of personality to save you from the evil rethugs. Start taking action to fix things like: gerrymandering, voter suppression, the Electoral College, Russian hacking, fake news, and vote machine hacking.

end of rant.

Your sentiment is very appreciated, though. Midterms in my state in '18 is much more important that '20. Planned Parenthood, Healthcare, Supreme Court,, Education Funding, etc.

I am getting really sick and tired of the 2020 crap, though. If it were tRump versus a lump of dog shit in 2020, you know I'm voting for the lump of dog shit.

And frankly I'm far for focused on the 2018 midterms. But you're wrong that it doesn't matter who we nominate. We can multitask and we do need to be figuring out who our next generation of leaders is and we need to figure out a coherent message. "We suck less than Republicans" is not enough. It's totally true, and about 40% of those who vote will vote for the Dem nominee no matter what. But you need more if you're gonna get high enough to be past the margins where the game rigging can steal it.

is different from throwing dozens of names into the ring. I'm all for debating the various qualities an ideal candidate would have, but these flavor of the day threads do nothing but aggravate.

But unless we can get some type of grip on thuglican voter-suppression, voter-crosschecking, voter-purging, voter-disenfranchisement on 1,000 doses of steroids under a tRumputin DOJ with beauguard riding shotgun as AG before our next big elections, while simultaneously, keep those cyber-hacking ruskies from meddling again (Per Clint Watts, they're still meddling IE: Fake news, russian bots in boiler rooms spreading pro-tRumputin propaganda, lies etc.), I shudder to think of what 8 straight years of thuglicans running the Senate/Congress, and what if that orange shit gibbon can last only 3 of 4 years? His mind is steadily deteriorating from Frontal Lobe Dementia or whatever it is he has--I mean, what if we end up with pence whose just as ruthless & rotten and who doesn't seem to have mental issues like tRumputin?

I need to get a cold glass of water then take some DEEEEEP breaths now .....

11. ACTION: need to demand legislation to revoke use of computerized voting machines & tabulators
Mon May 8, 2017, 03:27 AM
May 2017

Any voting equipment that involves computers - software or hardware does NOT meet the burden of proof that the equipment actually performs as intended -- just think of what happened with VW and the smog test scam -- and they tried to claim it as a mistake just like elections officials always pass off discrepancies with the machines as "computer glitches"

VW admits to 'chain of mistakes' in emissions scandal: What you need to know

http://www.latimes.com/business/autos/la-fi-hy-volkswagen-qa-html-20151007-htmlstory.html
snip...VW embedded software in the vehicles' electronics that allows the cars to emit up to 40 times the legally allowed amount of nitrogen oxide while appearing in tests to be within the limit, U.S. environmental officials said...snip

-----

Additionally, we need to demand that the SOS of each state immediately decertify the voting machines and replace them with good ol' fashioned paper ballots hand counted at precincts

We also need to demand that voter rolls be compiled by county registrars (rather than centralized at state level) and that computerized outsourcing of that task to corporations such as Crosscheck be ended immediately.

Big "year" to unGerrymander New Jersey is 2017.

I think 2017 folks here and in VA have a shot at punching the Trump Admin square in the jaw. I'm surprised folks don't get that.

13. The only way to fix voter suppression is to change the law.
Mon May 8, 2017, 07:33 AM
May 2017

The only way to change the law is to get it through Congress.

The only way to get it through Congress is to control Congress.

The only way to control Congress is to win elections.

That's the circular logic on how to fix the problem.
