The warning, which has not been previously reported, came less than 48 hours after the November election when the two sat down for a 90-minute conversation in the Oval Office.
A senior Trump administration official acknowledged Monday that Obama raised the issue of Flynn, saying the former president made clear he was "not a fan of Michael Flynn." Another official said Obama's remark seemed like it was made in jest.
The revelation comes on a day that former acting Attorney General Sally Yates is expected to testify that Flynn misled the White House about his contacts with Russia's ambassador to the United States.

(42,038 posts)They thought it was a joke. Seriously? That is some sorry ass excuse.
I have no doubt that President Obama made very clear the reasons he fired Flynn.
What a bunch of amateurs.

That is so funny I can hardly stand it.

(11,204 posts)that President Obama would never joke about something that was a serious matter. Unlike Idiot 45, President Obama took his job seriously.

This "senior Trump administration official" seems to be used to all the yuks going around the WH about the safety of the country.

(14,307 posts)Sure--President Obama would have been "jesting" with his presidential incumbent buddy Trump like two frat-house college boys--not! President Obama is articulate and measured. While he has a wonderful sense of humor, somehow I doubt he was enjoying his meeting with a Russian-mob associated president-elect. I cannot imagine how anyone could suggest otherwise.

Any statement they don't like is "fake", until they can no longer deny it. Then it's a joke.

(16,582 posts)Donald knows nothing about world affairs, so he fell for anything "General Mischa" told him. Sticking it to President Obama was no doubt a "plus." Donald's unearned condescension to our former president is well documented in the twitter archive---just scroll down to the section on President Barack Obama for a reminder of his relentless and mindless abuse:

(68,483 posts)problem is that it was exposed. They knew Obama was serious about Flynn, but they wanted Flynn colluding with the Russians.

(82,849 posts)From the text of the article, NBC talked to someone in the Trump administration, who confirmed that Obama didn't trust Flynn. Then it says "another official" claimed the remark seemed to be in jest. Who is this second official? The implication is that it's someone else in the Trump administration, though that isn't said specifically.
But let's assume it was a Trump official who made the "jest" comment, which I think is reasonable. Why would anyone put any trust in anything said by this cabal of self-serving amateurs who don't have the foggiest notion of what they're doing? Was the second official actually present in the meeting between Obama and Trump? I can't tell if the writing of this report is intentionally sloppy, trying to provide cover for Trump, or if it got rushed into print and nobody noticed two very ambiguous statements.
