Religious Liberties are NOT under attack.......

Despite what people are hearing from members of both Houses of Congress, on Cable News shows, on radio, Religious Liberties are not under attack.

The truth of the matter is, Religious liberties continue to be protected. Every citizen of this country is guaranteed the right, under the Constitution, to practice his or her religion in the manner they see fit without Government interference. Thzt there shall be no establishment kf a set religion that all citizens must follow.

The same shall be said for the interference of Religion in our Government. The wall of Seperation between Church and State must remain strong. The United States is not a Christian nation. But a secular nation with a secular Government made up of Christians, Jews, Muslims, Sihks, Hindus, Buddhists, religious and non-religious groups. Enacting laws that cite scripture or use religion to discriminzte against another religion, sectors of the the American population, race, etc., is WRONG.

In conjunction to the Executive Order Trump signed regarding that Churches should not be punished for getting involved with Politics be removing their tax exemption status, is the use of religion to influence law. Any Church that involves itself in political speech, endorses a particular candidate, gives money to that candidate, DOES INDEED deserve to lose their Tax Exempt status.

Everyone else's sure are...

You help to support my assertion by pointing out
That the Constitution affords us the freedom of religion and from religion.....

So, as a result of various acts by 45 ...

by which he has effectively eliminated the Separation of Church and State....
in favor of Evangelical Christianity...

All Non-Christian Religious Liberties are now Threatened..

Especially the universally applicable
FREEDOM FROM RELIGION ...

When federal & state laws...
which are universally applicable...
are based on the religious beliefs of one group
Then No One is Free from Religion
And
All whose beliefs differ are forced to abide by the laws that were drafted in favor of a single religious group

The same can said for Education....
When one group's religious beliefs are allowed to shape the PUBLIC Educational System's core curriculum & Instructional practices
Then no one is free from religion.....

They can maybe trot out a few anecdotal stories of religious harassment against them (some of which also happens to people of other religious faiths), but "the system" is still fully on their side and will back them up in a fight and they have plenty of legal recourse and protections if anything too egregious occurs. However, more often than not, they're usually the first ones to show up rallying against the construction of a new Mosque in their community and/or urging their leaders to pass laws to combat the (non-existent) threat of "Sharia Law".

but government typically bends over backwards most of the time to accommodate people's (mostly Christians) beliefs to the point where we get laws and policies on the books based on nothing but one group's religious-based beliefs. For instance, President Obama bent over backwards and sideways to help address objections to portions of the ACA like with the birth control mandate and his efforts were still not viewed as good enough by some- whereby even the simple act of requiring somebody to send a freaking form in to opt-out was seen by some as burdensome. Most troubling is that Republicans in many states- in response to the ongoing advancement of LGBTQ rights- want to expand the notion of "religious liberty" even further to allow people to opt out of doing their jobs and/or providing public services if it somehow "offends" their religious beliefs/sensibilities in some way, shape, or form, something that would NEVER be tolerated in this country if it involved anybody other than LGBTQ persons. I sincerely hope to see these laws challenged and struck down if and when they become law.
