If Republicans dont stand up to Trump on Russia, theyre helping him undermine our democracy

WaPo states it loud and clear: https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2017/05/09/if-republicans-dont-stand-up-to-trump-on-russia-theyre-helping-him-undermine-our-democracy/?utm_term=.093e26d5e68b

Spicer’s remarks today are the latest in a persistent effort by the White House to employ a disinformation campaign to undercut the various ongoing investigations into Russia’s meddling in our election — and potential Trump campaign collusion with it. If Republicans don’t stand up to the White House on this, they will be responsible for helping him undermine public trust in the ultimate outcome of the probes.

The stakes could not be higher, given the nature of the Russian threat to western democracies.

In a normal presidency, the White House would have been relieved to receive an alert such as the one Yates delivered about Flynn. But this is not a normal presidency. This White House has basically declared Yates the villain and Flynn the hero. Today, Spicer characterized Yates, a 27-year DOJ veteran, as “not exactly a supporter of the president’s agenda.” He was suggesting, then, that the White House didn’t take her warning about Flynn very seriously because of her supposed political agenda.

If Republicans continue let Trump get away with this, they will be aiding in his efforts to undermine active investigations — and the public’s trust in them. Republicans must push back — clearly, loudly, forcefully — on the president’s attempts to interfere with these probes and his ham-handed spreading of disinformation about them, or they will be co-owners of his deceptions.

And???

Does anyone actually believe that the Republicans care about our democracy?

They confirmed an EPA director who spent his time trying to destroy that organization, they confirmed an Education Secretary whose only exposure to education was funding charter schools that failed, they confirmed a lying racist as the US Attorney General, after he lied to them!!!

Now Pruitt will destroy our environment for the cash, DeVos will destroy public education, and Sessions DoJ has already used a segregation decision by the SCOTUS to justify Trump's ban on Muslims...do you still think that the Republicans actually care if they undermine our democracy?

And their voters don't care either...the bigots and racists don't want democracy for POC, and the religious fanatics are looking for Armageddon and the Rapture...and those seem to make up most of the Republican party!!!

You can take the 'if' out of your subject line.

We need to see modern republicans exactly the way we saw Hitler's war machine.

They have the same ends in mind. They represent the same danger.

No republican is an honest person with a different viewpoint.

They are the god-damned enemy.
