I assume that would rule out Arpaio and some others other people listed. However, a question I do not know the answer to - who is the acting head of the FBI now that Comey is out.

If he is a decent career guy, I suspect Trump will try to get the person he likes best who can be confirmed. If the acting head is a partisan Republican, he will be less pressed to pick someone acceptable.
