Comey was addressing a group, saw his firing on a TV screen, thought it was a joke

On the Rachel Maddow show.

Comey was addressing a group, the "breaking news" of his firing was displayed on a TV screen behind him, he laughed and thought it was a great prank.

Then he was asked to step into a room where he was told it was no joke.

Then he got the letters from Trump.

... testimony he's supposed to give soon.

Maybe while Comey is not director he can't speak on certain issues.

but I can relate. In my very first job out of college, I ended up working for a guy who hated me... and my entire team working on a very high-profile project. The project was so high-profile that I was attending meetings with the senior VPs of my company (people my boss never got to meet). I was a very junior person, but many many layers of management resigned in mass so I ended up attending these meetings because there was literally no one between me and a Senior VP. Anyway, this bozo ended up being put in charge and he hated my project (and that it proved a position that he held was incorrect AND it was making money hand over fist for the company).

Anyway, I and my entire team were fired for "insubordination"... and the way we found out was trying to go to work and our electronic badges no longer worked.

No phone call, no "come in for a meeting"... nope... just locked out.
