The Congress is the only protection our country has from treasonous abuse of presidential power.

The Republicans who are applauding Trump's "masterful move" by firing the FBI director Comey must be held complicit in Trump's crimes.

They will do nothing to uphold the Constitution or rule of law in spite of swearing to do so.

This kind of self serving criminality must not be allowed to prevail.
This has to be made known to all Americans.
How, I don't know, but it must be or our country will be lost.

They have the power to refuse to confirm ANY new FBI director until an acceptable special prosecutor is appointed.

He seems surprisingly quiet tonight. I saw something from Grassly, Flake, and McCain - zip from Mitch.

Anyone heard from him ?

it's not like it used to be.
If revolutionaries try to take on today's military it won't end well.
The odds for success have shifted quite strongly towards the military with all the new tech and weapons available.
And you can be sure that Trump would have no qualm blowing away whole American neighborhoods in order to get a covy of hidden revolutionaries.

No, the change has to come from within the government or it won't come at all.

Trump was ordering the military to "blow away whole American neighborhoods," Trump would have to worry that his Preateorian Guard would turn against him. Trump can only depend upon the military to remain loyal to him, so long as the military believes he is acting constitutionally. Once that premise is in question, the military becomes a free agent.
