The "This is a MOMENT OF TRUTH for REPUBLICANS" meme is 100% bullshit

We reached this point because of Republicans.

There is no "we didn't see this coming" defense. They knew who Trump was, what he was, all the way from the pussy grabbing to stiffing contractors and bankruptcies and all points in between.

Ryan had an agenda. Period. And even though his "healthcare bill" will be re-written to the point of being unrecognizable in the Senate (if they deal with it at all, despite their assertion that they will). His recent statement that he dreamed of this day since he was sitting at a keg in college is all the insight you need into his "support" of Trump.

I see McConnell as more of a rat that would jump the sinking ship.

But with Ryan and McConnell as "leadership" and a majority in the House and Senate, until any of these fucks feel that they will be personally damaged by any of this, and as long as they feel they can stonewall any Russia investigations, please don't buy into the "moment of truth for the Republican party" bullshit.

Because that's exactly what it is...bullshit, nothing more or less. These are the fucks who held a beer bash after voting to kill healthcare for 24 million people and to pluck $880 billion from Medicaid to finance tax cuts for Mitt Romney.

If they have a moment of truth, they will fall back to "alternative facts."

I heard the "moment of truth" nonsense from more than one source.

And the fact that the reality is out there and Trump very well could orchestrate the death of the investigations is what we're dealing with.

Without an independent special prosecutor, immune from getting "fired" by Trump, this will drag out forever or will come to a halt.

The "optics" on this one are horrendous.

McConnell, Ryan, Nunes, Chaffetz....the list probably goes on and on.

Dirty. Every last one of them.

That's why Congress can't do shit. Because the crooks are walking among them.

These "clean" Republicans?

I don't think so. I suspect every last one of them would sell his grandmother for the opportunity to screw people over.

Yes, Ryan / McConnell / Chaffetz / Nunes / etc are relatively high profile.

I say that because some of the hard-core Trump supporters...like my sister...have no idea who they are. She may know their names from Fox News, which is all she watches, but she knows zero about what Ryan, as an example, has been attempting with health care. And if you attempt to educate her she calls it "fake news."

Once you get outside of that circle, many in the House and Senate are all but invisible to to anyone outside of their immediate constituents.

DU is politically aware, DU knows names and track records of House and Senate members who don't make the national headlines, but that is an exception rather than the rule when it comes to the majority of Americans. The average Fox News viewer would probably be inclined to trust a Republican they knew nothing about simply because they are a Republican, and Fox told them to do so.

Supposedly Ryan has been taped negotiating cash with the Russians, but I'm doubtful of that at this point.

I don't think McCONnell will ever jump ship, but Ryan would like to win Pres in 2024 so he might do so before long.
