McCain, Graham, Collins vote with Dems to block overerturning of Obama-era drilling rule, 51-49

https://www.yahoo.com/news/senate-blocks-moves-overturn-obama-143841333.html

WASHINGTON (AP) — In a surprising win for environmentalists and Democrats and a blow to the fossil-fuel industry, the Senate on Wednesday failed in a bid to reverse an Obama-era regulation restricting harmful methane emissions that escape from oil and gas wells on federal land.

The vote was 51-49 in the Republican-led Senate with three GOP lawmakers — Maine's Susan Collins, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and John McCain of Arizona — joining forces with the Democrats to block efforts to overturn the rule.

Now if only they were not blinded by their hate for Hillary, maybe we can get the Russia investigation going full steam and impeach Trump.

First of all, many Senate Republicans know her personally and do not hate her. Second, finding that Trump was cooperating with the Russians would not mean that he is kicked out and replaced by HRC. That is not the law.

What would happen is that if he were involved, he would be impeached and Pence would become President. In the event they find Pence also was involved, the likelihood is that they would follow the Agneau, then Nixon path. The President would then be someone who the Senate could confirm -- like Ford was.

There is nothing in the Constitution that would immediately have a new election OR that would say that with everything that happened, HRC should be made President.

Collins, I get. McCain, I get. Graham is surprising, considering how much water he has been carrying for Trump of late.
