Why are the republicans protecting him? They won't lose the WH, just a criminal.

I don't get it. Why not look into all of this with a special prosecutor and get it out in the open? The only thing I can think of is that the corruption is so pervasive they are protecting themselves.

And the rest who want to obstruct to keep power.

no real politician would do because of the effect on their career.
He don't know enough about anything to know what NOT to do.
He'll play around and on the third rail.
Then when he does all that the GOP will dump him and make Pence president, blaming it all on Trump.

Whatever evil shit they do that the public actually gets angry about, they can blame Trump and THEN get rid of him. At the very least, he's an old, fat political dead end he's the perfect tool and too stupid to realize that he's a tool.

I think it's because they are afraid of losing the votes of Dolt 45's knuckledragger base, who would continue to support him even if he buggered a Cub Scout on the White House lawn on live TV.

They saw that the nomination of tRump was inevitable. They worked out a deal with tRump and now are up to their eyeballs in this whole mess. Now they realize the extent of the mess. Remember, many of them are now attending closed door briefings so know way more than the average American does about what the FBI and other agencies know. They are caught between the proverbial rock and hard place. Cry me a river!!

Hard to feel sorry for these people since the stories about tRump have been around for years. Speculation about his mental health was out in the news long before the conventions. But here they are, less than a year later, up to their necks in the mess with no good options. Let us hope that they will go for doing the right thing for the country and the American people who sent them to do the people's business.

It seems like every so many years we have to have a crisis of epic proportions in our government. And this one is a doozy with many players. With breaking news coming out every 20 minutes (it seems) maybe the snowball is turning into an avalanche. Fingers crossed!
