are eagerly awaiting the end times, looking forward to being "raptured" with a sick delight on their faces as they speak of the tortures those left behind will endure.

They also tend to believe that only their particular brand of Christian will be taken away, via some kind of magic.

I know a lot of them and am related to a lot of them. They have been twisted by the idea that they are chosen by "god" to enforce their will on everyone else.
