If US policy is that the Kurds can't keep land they've captured in Turkey and Syria, fighting ISIS

(for the Kurds to claim sovereignty for their own country), how can US policy allow Israel to keep land it captured during the Six Day War? Won't the Kurds find these two situations comparable?
