now WE'RE picking the lie we think is truth.

When you have no credibility because you are a liar - you have no credibility. Everything is a lie!

why would that be important? there are no consequences for lying. lying put * in the white house. there is no one, and nothing that can hold him accountable.

who holds putin accountable? no one. and that's where we are.

And exactly why most conspiracies fall apart. The individuals involved are more concerned about saving their own skin then they are about keeping the conspiracy going. IMO, someone big will flip by Monday. These are not career criminals. Yes, they are greedy assholes but they aren't used to a sustained shit storm of this magnitude. Career criminals are. It's just another day at work for them.

I don't think Trump cares if he is lying, nor what his lies are, or whether they are believed.

He just says whatever he thinks he needs to make himself look good or defend himself.

Also, if you must tell a big lie, then it should contain a plausible premise. Still using as little details as possible.

Unless you're in a position of power then make the lie as outrageous as possible. People will be discussing the merits of your lie while you go off and cause more damage. Constant whiplash has a way of keeping your critics busy. You can wear people down through the crushing weight of lies. Bush and Cheney knew this, but they had a handle on reality that Trump does not possess. Bush/Cheney knew you had to have a ready response to any challenges.

Trump is used to controlling his environment. He lies and expects no one to counter them. He is surprised and even shocked by challenges. His only ready response to a challenge is fight or flight. So he attacks those who challenge him.

Or not.

They both lied to impress. They both lied to get out of trouble, and they both lied just to lie (for no apparent reason). They also lied to make experiences more entertaining. They were also found out to be liars and ended up with no friends at all.
They were also both insecure and dishonest assholes.
