Objectively, will Trump be remembered as the villain that he truly is? (I'm being serious)

Look, he's obviously reviled among anyone on our side who has even the most rudimentary knowledge of what is happening. And based on his approval numbers, it seems like a growing number of people are, at a minimum, worried about the direction he's taking the country. I won't touch his current fan club.

I'm talking about something else. I'm talking about people who have gone down in history as objectively evil. People that, other than the fringe of the fringe, nobody will never publicly admit to supporting. Without being too hyperbolic, the obvious examples are figures like Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, etc. In this country, some of the more hateful pro-segregation figures of the 20th century fit that bill.

I know this is just semantics, but there's a part of me that worries that he'll be whitewashed by the press and historians as simply an incompetent and unstable guy who was in over his head. With the damage he has and continues to do to our discourse, traditions, and institutions, that can't be how he is remembered.

Because we all know he will continue to bluster, and spit ..." until it actually, finally hits him.

That all of his money, and power, and connections, cannot save him. That he is the object of ridicule. And that this (jail) is now his LIFE.

Will he snap? I hope so. I wouldn't wish that on most, but I do with him.

So will a shambling, incoherent shell of a man be seen as evil ...?

of the Russia investigation. If it proves he colluded with Russia to gain the WH I think he will be remembered as a traitor to everything our democracy stands for. I think the repubs will get painted with that same brush unless the quickly show support for an independent investigation.

Especially this era.

We have too much technology to hide his actions.

And in 20 years, when what he does/did won't be so critical; the players will reveal the truth.

I don't *think* he'll reach Hitler or Stalin levels but it remains to be seen if he'll rise to the level of a lesser despot. Maybe a Yanukovych (for obvious parallels and reasons). Perhaps even a Mussolini.

But even as a lesser dictator Trump would still be by far the worst person to ever govern the United States.

If he wins this war on the American people he will be know as the savior. If the American people win the war he will be known as a villain. History is written by those who win the war.
