They told the White House that it does not look good for the President as he would "not be greeted warmly" after the sacking of Comey, which many FBI agents disagreed with.

http://www.rawstory.com/2017/05/inappropriate-reporters-crush-sarah-sanders-after-trump-admits-breaching-protocol-to-ask-comey-about-russia/

“He’s a showboat, he’s grandstander, the FBI has been in turmoil,” Trump told Holt. “You know that, I know that. Everybody knows that. You take a look at the FBI a year ago, it was in virtual turmoil, less than a year ago. It hasn’t recovered from that.”

At Thursday’s White House press briefing, Sanders defended Trump’s decision to breach protocol and discuss the investigation with Comey.

“Isn’t it inappropriate to ask the FBI director if he’s under investigation?” ABC correspondent Jon Karl asked.

“I don’t see that as an issue,” Sanders insisted..........................

The Trumpster realized he wasn't wanted and that his appearance would not generate cheering FBI staff people. Because he lives inside his own fiction--how Comey had lost the confidence of those around him (false), how the man was not 'right' and was a showboater (laughable), how the Assistant Attorney General--in place for 2 weeks--initiated the firing (false) and how everyone agreed with the decision (obviously a whopper).

This is the beginning of the end for Trump and his arrogant enablers, co-conspirators. Warrants are being issued, sealed indictments are a-waiting, RICO charges are wending through the ether and this whole tattered, disreputable House of Cards is coming down.

Fire Comey?? YUGE mistake, Mr. President. You are an ignorant oaf.
