Is that how you prime a pump?

Somehow I think this all ends up in golden showers and a bunch of pussygrabbing.

Yuck. Now I need a shower. The other kind. Not yellow.
With soap.
And disinfectant.

Maybe a handful of antibiotics for good measure.

given his profound ignorance, but "laughing up your sleeve" is a legitimate expression. It means to be secretly amused, and stems from the days when mirth could be stifled by hiding your face in ruffles and loose, billowing sleeves on clothing.

but I think it originated in Europe, probably France, due to the billowing, lacy clothing.

My mother always said it. When we were kids, she used all kinds of old-fashioned expressions on us, and if we asked what it meant, she'd make us look it up.

No internet then. She had a big book of idioms that belonged to my grandmother.
