Jeff Sessions back under the Recusal spotlight : Comey and Manafort - RMS

Last edited Fri May 12, 2017, 08:07 AM - Edit history (1)

Rachel Maddow Show has done a vey important piece tonight, on whether Jeff Sessions, having recused himself in all things Russia and all things Clinton emails, quietly unrecused himself or just ignored the recusal.

RMS (including Rachel herself) has contacted the Justice Department 5 times and they have refused to answer.

We know about Sessions involvement in the Comey firing, but it appears Manafort has not yet registered as a Foreign Agent, on advice from the Justice Department. Why would that be the case ? Does Sessions have something to do with that ?

She is whittling things down to basics, just like she said she would. Remember, ignore what they say; pay attention to what they do.

So in a sense, it was a heads up to them as well as to the rest of us.

But left us with the proverbial "?" at the end.

Why hasn't Manafort registered as a foreign agent (even though it was widely reported earlier this year that he was in the process of doing so)? Is it because 1) Jeff Sessions is providing cover to him, surreptitiously; or 2) Manafort has flipped and is speaking to authorities about his connections to Trump-Russia?

To me, that's the heart of the matter, and suggests that Congress needs to move swiftly to question Sessions about his recusal turnaround and whether he has communicated with Manafort since January 20th.
