Republicans in the Oklahoma state legislature have a challenge on their hands: figuring out how to address a gaping $900 million hole in the state budget without raising taxes.
Some lawmakers have proposed firing nonessential college employees. Others want to drop a film tax credit, saving the state as much as $5 million.
Republican Rep. Mike Ritze told CBS affiliate KWTV that he has another proposal in mind: Rounding up the states 82,000 non-English-speaking students and handing them over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Identify them and then turn them over to ICE to see if they truly are citizens and do we really have to educate noncitizens? Ritze asked.

(15,805 posts)In June 1982, the Supreme Court issued Plyler v. Doe, a landmark decision holding that states cannot constitutionally deny students a free public education on account of their immigration status. By a 5-4 vote, the Court found that any resources which might be saved from excluding undocumented children from public schools were far outweighed by the harms imposed on society at large from denying them an education.

(23,826 posts)Sick people like Ritze are the ones who commit genocide. For Ritze, minorities are not human, these aren't children to him, they don't need to be treated with any respect or dignity. Ritze sees them as animals.
We are closer to committing atrocities than people even realize.
