'Serving at the pleasure of the president' simply means that the president has the power to hire/fire the holder of said position...

The standard "given" expectation is that all candidates would be equally loyal to the constitution/country...
So the president is just choosing who he thinks will do the best job ...


Since both the president & his 'chosen' position holders are expected to be loyal to the country/constitution ...
not to a government official

A decent respectable president would never appoint someone who might even consider putting party or president above the constitution...

it will be time to go back to the drawing board and attempt to put together a new and improved democracy. There can not be a political party that supports and protects criminals.
