Why are separate dental policies even necessary? In the scope of preventative and holistic medicine, dental care makes perfect sense - if only insurance companies could expand their vision past the next quarter's profits.

and it barely covers anything.
A recent root canal and crown cost me $1200, Insurance picked up about $500.
They allow a certain amount, in the case of the root canal it was $900, and then paid only $300 of it.
I could barely afford it. I could see how many could not, even with insurance.

It should not be separate from medical care as it is integral to whole body wellness and poor dental hygiene can lead to other diseases later on down the road, including cardiovascular diseases, dementia and respiratory infections.
