Everything he does is based on how it benefits himself.

That's why the comments about south korea. To please the chinese and his business interests there.

And not being as pro israel as he claimed he would be. It's not about doing the right thing but about his business interests in muslim/arab areas.

Lower level people wouldn't know if he was considering such a move. Whoever leaked that had their own motives likely.
