Why do you support a party namely Regan that said GREED is GOOD
When the Bible says the LOVE of money is evil?
Justify that to me
and don't give me the Calvinist view because if your not rich you say God doesn't love you
Well God must love the Mafia because they certainly are not in financial pain.

(10,252 posts)prosperity Christians to admit to their greed and hypocracy. You can rant at them 24x7, and all you will accomplish is them getting more and more defensive. Their ego, their sense of Self-hood, is all wrapped up and entrenched in their belief system. They are not emotionally or spiritually mature enough to be open-minded to other possible ways of thinking and being. Except for a very very few, getting them to think rationally is pretty much a lost cause. They are "right" arguers. They must always be "right," and make everyone with a different view point "wrong."
So save your breath. Rather than waste my time with them, I prefer to think about and contemplate my own spiritual progress.
We cannot change other people; we can only change ourselves. IMHO

and morality -- as they pertain to outsiders -- have been thrown under the bus in this era. Cons tend to be relatively malleable by leaders, and they have been taken over by some increasingly extremely bad ones over the past 35 years.
But they don't have to be like this. They can be and often are wonderful to people they haven't been trained to see as problems and enemies, as in those they see as their own.
And American cons' concern over the supposed destructive effects of government programs makes a whole lot more sense when one realizes that a gut belief in an important natural order--existing even without religion--is much stronger in them. That government programs that interfere with, instead of working with it, may cause worse problems than without. A fairly sensible characteristic if not overdone. Many once supported New Deal programs, and by far most don't want their SS meddled with. Unfortunately, this resistance, and refusal to believe that libs agree to a point, have been developed to the max by malignant anti-government manipulators.

(6,390 posts)You are assuming they are "Christian". These whack jobs assume they are wealthy because Gold loves them. And they are forgiven for all the people they have cheated, swindled and oppressed.
They will show up once a year and help out at a soup kitchen to make themselves feel "christian", and no sooner they leave and happen to pass a beggar will yell at them "get a job you addict!"
They always ignore the part where Christ says he knew them not.

(3,473 posts)They want Roe vs. Wade and gay marriage overturned and don't give a shit about anything else. I heard a clip on NPR this morning. It was Falwell speaking at Liberty University. He basically defended Trump's past and character by saying nobody is perfect. It reminded me of how cult members think, then I remembered who his audience was.
