(115,692 posts)"High crimes and misdemeanors" can mean pretty much anything Congress wants it to mean, including lying about a blow job.
Alexander Hamilton said, "...those offences which proceed from the misconduct of public men, or, in other words, from the abuse or violation of some public trust. They are of a nature which may with peculiar propriety be denominated political, as they relate chiefly to injuries done immediately to the society itself."[5]

(115,692 posts)Impeachment is a political act, not a criminal proceeding. Even if disclosing this info was not technically criminal because presidents can declassify anything, how is this not impeachable while Clinton's blowjobs* were? Dershowitz is kind of goofy. How is disclosing extremely sensitive intelligence acquired from an ally to a hostile government not some kind of high crime or misdemeanor?
*(Yes, I know Bill's impeachment was claimed to be based on perjury, but perjury unrelated to the presidency and of a kind that wouldn't even get a party in trouble in a normal court case. People lie in depositions all the time and don't get prosecuted)
