This OP here does not care that that is not what she said even though plenty of posters are informing and asking to change title:

I wonder what is up with that?

(7,432 posts)On its face, it looks like the Pelosi "no impeachment" post was intentionally misleading.

(14,274 posts)Pretty sick of it these ploys myself.
I think the only way this place could become a functioning community, instead of farming an ocean of slime and fake news being thrown at Democrats, is for the admin to be a little more active and get rid of that stupid jury system. Lord of the Flies mob rule never ends well.
I don't think they will ever return back to the sane system. It's just that it's getting really hard to hear ourselves over all the fucking noise in here.

(5,811 posts)both subtle and powerful. She was saying impeachment must be based on facts. The implication was congressional especially senate is in the process of collecting those facts.
That's what I heard.

(15,220 posts)In fact, I thought she was much stronger on this part of the town hall than in other areas. I didn't think it was one of her best nights, but she did not equivocate on this matter. She was strong here.

It's also clear someone is attempting to generate division among us.

(58,656 posts)while she said, in effect, "not yet," the long term answer is still open, from what I heard on the clip.
As the party leader in the House, she kind of has to avoid rampant speculation and hyperbole based on innuendo and rumor. One thing she can do is count votes, and with a Repub majority, the votes aren't there and getting overly excited can work against us.
Besides, if we impeach now we might lose one of our best issues to run on next year. That's not "keeping our powder dry," that's strategy.

(43,161 posts)You don't survive in politics for a lifetime without that skill
If the time comes, she'll be explicitly in favor
Impeachment must have legitimacy to succeed and convict
That's why Nixon resigned, and Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton weren't convicted

(61,608 posts)That's probably the goal.
We've seen a lot of propaganda and misinformation posted on DU for years. It's all designed to undermine Democrats and assure that Republicans take power.
It's disgusting. Thanks for this OP. Sunshine is the best disinfectant.

(4,353 posts)She did not say no to impeachment. She is the person in the room that this country needs right now. She's trying to approach this logically and with reason. It is the type of approach that our country's future depends on right now and is the reasoned approach in which it was founded.

(70,218 posts)impeachment is my preferred route, she is right. We really need some substance-all the facts. We are fighting the RW news, the Repugs in Congress just as a start.
