Sen. Durbin says in private conversations, some Republicans have hit the breaking point w/Trump.

Sen. Durbin (On "All In&quot said that in some private conversations he's had w/Republicans, some of them are at or past the breaking point with this President.

He then urged the Senators to work in a bipartisan fashion, appoint a Special Prosecutor, and move forward. It's critical to take the politics out of it all. He said some are ready to put country ahead of anything else.

I hope this is true.

2. I'm assuming he knows these particular ones. Hence, the private conversations.

But yeah, generally you're right. It's usually money money money. That's their God.

6. True. Can the Intel Committees alone appoint a Special Prosecutor? Or the whole Senate?

I'm not clear on how that's done. If it takes a majority in the Senate, I would worry.

14. The DOJ? The head of which is Jeff Sessions? Ha. So it's up to a Republican Congress?

I don't doubt that there are any number of Republicans who are horrified by this shitshow, but whether they'll actually lift a finger to stop it is a horse of a totally different color. Since neither McConnell nor Ryan have betrayed any hint of being fed up, nobody in the Republican caucus will have the nerve to get out in front of the leadership. Not a scrap of courage in the whole bunch.

13. I trust my senator . He is not a sensationalist or looking for press. If he has said this it's true.

Whether those republicans know it but are too cowardly to stand up in the end and fight for a special prosecutor is another story . I believe it's true some said that and Durbin is urging them Can they be true to our country And go forward? Yes I hope they are ready but they are republicans which lowers the probability they will do what they say unfortunately.

I'm not sure what's taking them so long to figure it out. Not that I'm complaining. You could make the argument that stringing all this out for a year helps us in 2018.

16. I think so, too. Pence would bring calm and organization. At least in comparison.

They'd pass some bills, get some stuff done.

But of course, Trump must be stopped from at least telling enemy foreign nations classified secrets. That's imperative.
