I......Can't........Even........

Yesterday, I saw an acquaintance from high school pop up on my Facebook page. She's a cop and a semi-accomplished writer who used to appear on Nancy Grace's show to talk about how cops are great and criminals should have no rights and just be hanged outside the courthouse without a trial, etc. She's also quite possibly one of the most bed-wetting RW'ers I've ever seen in my life.

She posted this: "I would like to think, at some point, the media and others will realize that their current meltdown and temper tantrum is EXACTLY why he got elected in the first place. But, I doubt it. SMH. They still don't "get it.""

And then followed it up with this cartoon.

Apparently, that's what Trump committing about 18 different acts of TREASON is to these people: a little media "temper tantrum." And she has the nerve to accuse someone else of not "getting it." Some days I just........can't.........even. These Trump supporters really are mentally ill. And if you REALLY want to get a glimpse into the mind of a deplorable, just go to the website and/or Facebook page of the group that produced that cartoon. They have taken sycophantism (is that a word?) to an entirely new level.

Their primitive brains are hard-wired for rightwing authoritarianism.

In other words, it's not clear that it's saying what your acquaintance thinks it's saying. It is clearly depicting the view of right-wing nutcases, but that's such an illogical view that it's almost mocking it.

9. The cartoonists may not realize that they're inadvertently mocking themselves.

Reality is not on their side, so the joke is on them.

The cartoon is from 2016. They got what they wanted. They made sure Hillary Clinton did not become president because -- oh, that would have been horrible, wouldn't it, what with all her e-mail scandals and foundation scandals, and Benghazi? And now, we have the president sharing classified information with the Russians and trying to bully the FBI director to stop investigating his administration, and then firing him when he refuses to comply. The joke really is on them.

The distinction is important. I don't call deplorables friends.
