That is why he didn't bring Trump's request to end the investigation of Michael Flynn to his attention. He was in a bind. It reminds me of a crime movie where the investigator is afraid to share the results of his investigation with his superior because he knows his superior will share it with the person being investigated.

5. There are things I like about Comey...

I'm not a forgive and forget type of guy, especially when he screwed up the election so badly to please a corrupt congress. He's completely shit at politics, but I'm glad that he's a pretty smart agent otherwise. Hopefully his precautions can help mitigate at least some of the damage he caused, and I'm glad it's hindered Trump's advisors' ability to protect him from scandals getting out.

Edit: and maybe him getting fired could jave increased the odds of getting Trump removed, depending on how things play out.

President Obama saw something good about Comey. Unless Comey is a sociopath, I would think knowing your brief foray into electoral politics put the country in exisential danger and ruined lives would at least lead to some introspection.
