Nobody can prove what was said between Comey and Trump...

...behind closed doors in the White House.

But they can prove whether or not Trump asked to be alone with the FBI Director. That alone would be unethical with an investigation in process.

What did they talk about? Fishing and gardening?

Comey, for all his political faults, didn't get to where he did by being careless. While I may question his judgement on what facts may mean, it's hard to question his knowledge and veracity of the facts.

Bring on the tapes.

i have yet to see evidence of Trump's competency at anything
if he has them, he'll probably post the recordings on twitter, and they'll confirm everything Comey says in his memos
and then Trump can complain about "fake news" and "unfair treatment" and shit -- he seems to enjoy doing that sort of "work"

7. Also, one person of the two has a reputation for being untruthful and it isn't Comey.

The Federal Evidence Code makes that admissible (but not specific incidents of lying; it's complicated.)
