Someone who wants to abandon the USA should not be placed as head of a US Intel agency.

(129,729 posts)or nonpartisan candidate for the job, since he was into that "No Labels" thing. But I wonder if Dolt 45 would approve, since Joe eventually did endorse Hillary, and Himself demands total loyalty.

(16,698 posts)But twice a day you can't argue with a broken clock. It would seem that SOME law enforcement background/experience should be involved. I mean, isn't that one complaint about Betsy Devos?

(16,698 posts)I suspect certain large metro area PC's might get a break. Maybe someone with certain military backgrounds. And a few AG's might get a pass as well. But some guy whose entire career is elected office probably won't make the cut.

(6,552 posts)Uncle Joe is not a straight player. As Al Gore's vice president in the 2000 presidential race, Joe Lieberman damaged Gore's campaign especially in the closing weeks before the vote. His performance was terrible in the VP debate with Cheney, who creamed him.
He burned bridges later in his career with his self-obsessed petulant behavior. You don't hear a peep from Joe any more, with good reason.
He is more Republican than Democrat, and he would be a complete disaster as FBI Director. I hope the Dems have a long memory and will reject him outright.
I'd be very interested in knowing who pushed him for the job.

Lieberman??
I yam stuck in derealization since 08 November.
I sign every petition that comes down the pike.
Donating small amounts daily, Jon Ossoff, Rob Quist, etc. I don't live there!
Wrote to our 'r' senator and rep. (the one that just collapsed). Wrote to Jeff Merkley, wrote to Mark Warner, twice.
I yam gettin' frizzled.
Feeling my chronological age a tad.
Only thing saving, 'it's' gathering.
Then, mb, "thar she bllows!".

(13,444 posts)EVERY time I get upset about the ACA repeal and everything our country is enduring right now, I remember that Holy Joe and his refusal to support the public option is the reason we had Obamacare in the first place. I really hope that old SOB reaps his harvest where we all can watch it happen.
Maybe he should hitch his wagon to the orange assailant--that might just give him the path to his own downfall. This is me spitting on the floor.

(6,534 posts)Hated by almost every Dem in our state. After being rejected by Dems in primary, bastard entered as Ind and win seat by Repubs voting for him over the crap R candidate. That plus his corporate insurance pals and WS Greenwich billionaires returned him to the Senate. And the squashes of the Medicare opening up to 50 and over which would have led to Medicare 4 All during the initial ACA Senate negotiations after the House bill had included the public option.
A stain on our State. For any Democrat to support him is unconscionable.

(27,835 posts)... that Lieberman would have made a good Dem VP - because he's always loyal to the master who gave him the job.
If he takes a job from Trump, he'll be loyal to the master who gave him the job.
