By Aaron Blake May 18 at 1:14 PM
There are more than a few people who look at Vice President Pence and see President Pence possibly sooner than later. For wistful Democrats, it would be the end result of President Trump stepping aside or being impeached; for wistful Republicans, some dream of a more serious, less error-prone Republican president actually succeeding at passing a conservative agenda.
But as The Post's Abby Phillip began documenting last week, Pence has hardly been immune from Trump's foibles and from saying untrue things about them. And now twice in the past week, his defenses of the White House he serves in have been pretty directly contradicted in ways that seriously call into question his credibility.
Below are three big instances in which Pence said something that turned out to be highly misleading at best and clearly false at worst, starting with the newest one.
1) Michael Flynn's status as a foreign agent for Turkey

(5,730 posts)I've been saying for weeks, he needs to be investigated.
He has lied over and over and it is provable.
Maybe he is already being investigated, as it can be tied to the Russian cover up.
The problem is that these Repubs are continuing to damage our country while these investigations are ongoing. These guys should never have been there anyway.

(32,610 posts)Don't let Pence make any "deals" with Trump the way Gerald Ford made with Nixon.
Ford secretly agreed to pardon Nixon for all Watergate offences immediately after he resigned.
I mean it all happened on the same day.
The very day Ford was sworn in as POTUS his first act was to pardon Nixon. We didn't even hear about it until it was already done. Somebody has to step in and prevent that from happening.
Take away Pence's ability to make secret deals before he's POTUS. Or nullify any deals that he doesn't have the power to make. That would greatly decrease Trump's chances of walking away from this. It must be done now.

(1,846 posts)He's a slithering snake.
Lies when his mouth is moving, but covers himself in this cloak of "christianity".
I actually prefer (for lack of a better word) Trump because he shows you who he is at all times...no pretending.
Pence is the most dangerous person in that crew in terms of ability to change our lives for the worse. He'll put on a show of piety for the camera while insidiously ramming thru horrific legislation cloaked as "reforms".
He's the biggest threat.
I pray he gets caught in the Russia-gate net too.
His work will take much longer to fix.

(32,607 posts)When they talk about Flynn they always say "He lied to Pence".
No He Didn't! Pence lied to the American people as he was in on it from the day he joined the Trump campaign.

(63,221 posts)they always seem to be hiding some deep, dark secret. It's obvious that he's corrupt, but I don't think we quite know the depth of his corruption and perversion.
