Revisiting how Pence got the VP job

http://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/donald-trump-offered-chris-christie-vice-president-role-before-mike-pence/

Snip

"Paul Manafort, Trump’s campaign manager at the time, allegedly had another idea in mind.

Manafort had arranged for Trump to meet with his first choice for the job on July 13: Indiana Governor Mike Pence. Afterwards, the plans were for Trump and Pence to then fly back to New York together and a formal announcement would be made, a campaign source said of Manafort’s thinking.

What had previously been reported as a “lucky break” by the New York Times was actually a swift political maneuver devised by the now fired campaign manager. Set on changing Trump’s mind, he concocted a story that Trump’s plane had mechanical problems, forcing the soon-to-be Republican nominee to stay the night in Indianapolis for breakfast with the Pence family ..(more)
---------------------------

Now we know of course that Jared Kushner had a say in ousting Christy, but my question is "How did Manafort come to choose Pence over anyone else?"

What's the connection between Manafort & Pence that Manafort would go so far to arrange Trump to met Pence & family..?

Pence is deeper in this than has been told.
IMO

I thought Donnie made the decisions!

Yes, something is up with that. Something big, like billion dollar deals, deregulation ....

Hope they dig hard on this one.

That this fine, white upstanding, Christian man, who refers to his heaven sent wife as "Mother", could ever be involved in anything not truthful, or shady.

I swear on a stack of Bibles, I know this to be true.

Lying is a direct violation of 9th commandment, often translated as "Thou shalt not bear false witness".

Let me be perfectly clear......this impeccable, unblemished lily white flower of God could not violate the word of God, for any man!

Let alone the President of these U-Whited States!

Heaven for-fend!

Pray for the purveyors of this fake news, they will surely rot in hell.

Hell ain't half full yet, though now that Ailes is there, I may be wrong..... oh the girth!

including some very "Christian" people, who ever called their wives "Mother." This is beyond freaky. His wife is even freakier to put up with it. Yes, I've known some couples where the wife seemed to become little more than mom to the kids to their husbands. OTH, I've known some wives who came to think of their husbands mostly as breadwinners. Even stranger, such marriages often last for the duration when more passionate couples break up. I'm much more comfortable with a couple who are equals and respect and love one another- the Obamas come immediately to mind. Having a groping, thrice married womanizer, backed up by a holier-than- thou "family-values" guy who calls his wife "Mother"-how did we come to this crazy pass, where those two are considered "righteous" by so many?

The Republicans made trump accept Pence in exchange for their support.
This way that had nothing to lose if Trump was ousted.

and finishes the demise of the Republican party as it now exists. Highly unlikely that Pence would then be elected. Unfortunately, I feel that Donald will probably quit while he can still spread the blame for his decision elsewhere. He's bored and antsy only four months in: he'll never last four years. Sounds like Pence is gearing up to launch an all out assault on the Oval Office. For an unknown politician to the rest of the country, and less than a full term as an (unpopular) governor in his own state, Pence must have thought agreeing to be Trump's V.P. was the easiest path to the presidency ever offered a largely unknown political neophyte. Even Trump had to actually RUN for office. Times are scary.

There's no way that Pence could become President if tRUMP is ousted! He's in the know way more than he wants to project! If he does get the gig, an investigation will get him ousted too!!
