For those of us whom would have a difficult time replacing D.U. in our daily lives.?.
if you're not a Star Member...Please consider becoming one...
This is Home for me and if it is for you as well?....Please consider becoming a star member..
I pay $25 bucks a year.. A small amount..However many can not afford any amount..
Perfectly understandable..
But please, once again, if you can help the administrators fight the assholes who are trying to disrupt
our 1st Amendment Rights, please do so.
Elad, Skinner and Earl G.. Keep Up the Good Fight!

(28,865 posts)I like grammar and spelling; but most times it just isn't necessary to correct a person when they speak from the heart. It's distracting and takes the discussion in another direction... oops three periods, oh my!
Now, back to the topic of Star Membership.

(8,515 posts)Generally, Im always too eager to get my message up..I usually mess things up when I rush...I do a check, however Im not good at spotting errors, especially if theyre my own.
My major problem is that after putting a post together, lately Ive been posting them in the wrong Forum. Mostly ending up in the Lounge..I wish Earl and Co would place the General Discussion Forum way the hell away from D.U. Lounge..
Those guys just dont know how to run a site properly..

Just remember, they have reconciliation software that only pays one click per day, per site, per home IP.
Just getting an impression doesn't give a site very much, thousandths of a penny. Clicking on it is the payout!
Make the RW sites pay, transfer their wealth to DU. Do this with other sites, to drain RW money from them.
If they make the mistake of advertising on a Dem site, that's their mistake.

(22,068 posts)Skinner, Lead and Earl G. are awesome web-masters and they have built a truly excellent site.
They deserve our support and I encourage all readers to make a contribution to this place. When the hackers hit on Election Day, I felt adrift without DU. Likewise the other day. I'm going to make another contribution right now!

and i also have given generously for almost all those years. got a couple bumperstickers in the drawer around here somewhere to prove it.
folks also should think about serving a term on mirt. if for no other reason than to see just how much goes on behind the scenes here. it is amazing, and there are some great folks who have been holding this place together out of plain love forever.

(53,410 posts)Without DU I don't know what to think!
Politics has become so complex and so layered that, as smart as I am, I truly need our smart DUers to know what's going on.
I've made some major life decisions and learned life altering thing from DUers. One truly life altering thing I learned right here was that I could apply for social security income as a divorced spouse. it changed my life so profoundly that I can never thank DUers enough. I went from being unable to make it through the month even by shopping at the Dollar Store, to actually being able to save a sizable amount ever month. Nothing is more precious than having truly beneficial life altering help. It has made me a devoted member. And I'll be grateful for life.

(11,686 posts)I donated $20 and will continue that each year. I had very little money when I did that and never have much but next time I might be able to donate more. I feel at home with DU and actually start having withdrawal when I can not get to it. I like how most of you insist on proof about something being discussed as that makes sure we are not just a bunch of uneducated frustrated people upset about everything.

(4,699 posts)and I'm good until next November. I did it when things got real last November. I would be happy to donate more from time to time. I'm sure a donate button at the top and/or bottom of each page would bring in significant funds.

(14,179 posts)I may be frustrated sometimes on what some juries deem off limits, but I appreciate this place as an oasis to be able to discuss issues with other like-minded intelligent folks.
As some might know, I do enjoy the odd scrap or two. But there are plenty of other places to go to talk to deplorables and Russian trolls. But in those places, where even Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton is deemed a radical leftist, you can't even have a plausible argument.
I don't have much money, but they make it easy here to donate as much or least as you can. I would encourage others as well. And its nice not to endure ads of course.
