The account of Trump talking to the Russians about how he got rid of "nut job" Comey came from someone in the White House. We've seen a number of other stories that have come from White House sources, like accounts of Trump's continuing contact with Flynn.Where do you think the leaks are coming from?

(16,278 posts)They would be in a position to know about all of the dirty details and the focus, as far as the media, isn't on them right now. It's all on the FBI and DOJ.

(5,611 posts)character. But it's most likely the ordinary people working their asses off in our intelligence agencies. Trump has shit on them right and left so he deserves every bit of it.

Else You Are Mad
(3,040 posts)My reason being is that Trump is putting all of their Intel, ops and plans in jeopardy. This is just a way to show that they are in control except Trump is just to stupid to realize it and those that do realize it in his administration are not allowed to or are afraid to contradict or instruct Trump.

(7,614 posts)er, scratch "almost".
Else You Are Mad
(3,040 posts)For it to be anyone but Trump himself, Pence, or Ivanka/Kushner which I doubt any of them are leaking it. The only other group that would have the information are the IC.
That said, it could just be the white house aids that are just utterly terrified of what Trump is doing and they don't want him to get away with it.

(16,949 posts)election that they have some plants here and there. But it's definitely a strategy and it seems to be working. They seem to be turning up the heat now; firing Comey and mocking the Intel community was really stupid.

(9,291 posts)They got what they wanted. They proved they can screw with our elections. I just don't think he's worth the stress to them either. He's too much of a loose cannon and it doesn't look like the sanctions will be lifted.
They can get another one, who just smarter and know how to keep their mouth shut.

(12,363 posts)Especially if it's worth a couple of bucks. They all know that Rump is going down quite soon, so some will try to cash in, others who might gain from this will leak for personal reasons. And the occasional patriot will leak in order to get this looney toon in a straight jacket.

(19,558 posts)They want him not to be a able to keep ahead of the damning news. They only way he's neutralized is if they can keep him off his game.
I have some concerns what will happen if he has enough time to formulate a plan of retaliation and can stick with it before having to put out more fires. I'm positive I'm not the only one.
Else You Are Mad
(3,040 posts)I think we are lucky that Trump hired mostly inexperienced people for his administration because they do not know how to deal with it. So long as Trump doesn't hire serious and experienced politicians, I don't think he will ne able to simultaneously put out the fires and form a retaliation plan.

(15,512 posts)if mister reality TV isn't playing the press for chumps and leaking some of this stuff just to keep his show at the top of the ratings. I realize this seems unlikely given his irritation over the issue but getting that "nutjob" line onto the wires just as he was taking off seems like classic NJ revenge, hang the consequences, like closing lanes on the Washington Bridge.
