What should be the message(s) of the Democrats in the 2018 elections?

I think Healthcare will be the dominant issue, more specifically, repeal of (ACA) Obamacare.

But, in my opinion, Democrats should not put all their eggs in one basket. Every candidate will need to run to the interests and demands of their individual districts. They should not run on issues only. They need to run against the glaring weaknesses of the Republicans.

However, I think all the candidates should have the same playbook, as far as Trump and the Republicans go. There should be a political ad in every district in the nation that shows Trump in the White House with his Russian friends, the Ambassador and Foreign Minister. And it should be pointed out that the Republican Party was silent on this despicable betrayal of our country.

All the while, they were cutting the poor and needy off Medicaid, simply to give a big taxcut to Donald Trump and the wealthiest one-percent.

Also, they should run a reminder with every ad that if they want to protect our nation from the threat posed by Donald Trump and the Republicans, they need to put the Democrats in charge of the House and Senate. There can be no impeachment of these criminal acts against our nation if the people do not do their duty.

In my opinion, they need to stick to two or three issues and not bounce all over creation, although there are a ton of issues to talk about.

Seniors - don't let them take away social security or medicare

Millennials - these are the ones that have massive debt because of student loans; hard to afford getting married; raising a family

Women - equal pay for equal work; abortion issues; planned parenthood

Sick/disabled - losing their health insurance; pre-existing conditions

Poor - we need to elevate them out of poverty

Immigrants - a good immigration policy

You get the idea. We need to find the hot button that will get the most people out to vote in each voting group. Whatever works and motivates them to GOTV.

There should be a global message about Repugs & Trump - but we should run on the issues. We should run against the Repugs and not just against Trump.

Medicare for all should be the Democratic slogan. It polls well among Republicans as well as Democrats. Warmed over Romneycare was never the solution even if it was intended as a gesture of compromise toward the GOP.

when our Democratic senator, Michael Bennet held a town hall the other day, he announced he was not in favor of medicare for all because he called it "unsustainable." We have to push back against his thinking and get Democrats on board with this.

If every Democrat running does not use that photo, it would be foolish, in my opinion.

An effective theme could be rethugs only care about the 1%. IMHO trying to use Russia to smear can be counter productive. In the right wing's eyes there is still plausible deniability. However, they cannot deny that rethug healthcare harms the majority of Americans, nor can they deny that tRump chose to fill his cabinet with billionaires.

We need to start from the ground up and win from the bottom up! We need to win every seat possible, from the local dog catcher to the top government positions, including POTUS! Quit making excuses why we lost and fight to win!
