'The Rock', Tom Hanks jokingly announce 2020 presidential ticket on 'SNL'

By Brooke Seipel - 05/21/17 01:02 AM EDT

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Tom Hanks jokingly announced a bid for president and vice president in 2020 during Johnson's "Saturday Night Live" opening monologue this week. "I would get the senior vote because I fought in World War II... in several films,” Hanks joked.

“I would get the minority vote because everyone just assumes I am what they are,” Johnson agreed.
“This isn’t real,” Johnson added. “America, before you get too excited, Tom and I are only joking.”

"When it comes to politics we need more poise and less noise,' Johnson added. "Americans deserve strong capable leaders who care about this country and care about its people."

"Dwayne, that kind of sounds like you and me. I guess we gotta' do it," Hanks adds as confetti and a giant "Johnson, Hanks 2020" banner drops on the stage and confetti is fired.
