I was listening to Bill Kristol and Salena Zito discuss the coverage of the Trump campaign. It was like listening to Kristol and the lead actress in Legally Blonde discuss the First Continental Congress. Kristol said Trump is getting negative coverage because he is involved in negative things. He mentioned that within one hundred twenty days of his Inauguration he fired his NSA adviser, then fired the chief of the FBI for investigating him, and now is the subject of an independent prosecutor. Zito just tried to deflect.

1. Tragic thing is that compared with the Alt-Fascists in power now

IMHO, neo-conservatism was Wilsonian Internationalism on stilts. There has to be a middle ground, America is more than just a big piece of real estate or used to be.
