UPDATED: Rant: Really? Trump is exhausted?

Last edited Mon May 22, 2017, 07:55 PM - Edit history (2)

UPDATE: I was so annoyed by Agent Orange that I forgot to mention that this rant is not about me as the millions of Americans who WORK themselves into exhaustion before we even get home to take care of our responsibilities as parents, children, spouses and partners.

My wife is out of the country handling some business for her family. I am working a tough new job with more demands than hours in the day. I have an overactive kid who has school, STEM Club, basketball and violin. I keep my job up. I keep his schedule up. I take him to school and pick him up from the babysitter (no nannies for us). I make dinner, help him with his homework, make/pack lunch, get him to bed, do additional office work, clean and start all over again. Meanwhile, Orange Julius walks his bloated carcass up the stairs into Air Force One, rolls into hotel rooms, eats dinners, does a sword dance and gives a 30-minute speech.....and he's exhausted.

But the lack of sleep at night then makes him need naps during the day, which causes him to be unale to sleep at night again. It is a reinforcing pattern.

He spends so many waking hours watching Faux News, and then after he goes to bed (without the loving embrace of Melange), his tiny, little bladder wakes him up once, twice, maybe even more often at night -- depending on how often he hits the red DietCoke™ button. Ranting on Twitter (repeatedly) settles his mind to the point where he can take a pre-dawn nap before he starts the whole cycle over again. And again.
The only exercise he gets is on weekends, crawling out of a golf cart, swinging a club, waddling back to the cart and repeating 9, maybe 18 times at a stretch.
Take him across 6-7 time zones, make him curtsy, do a sword thingy, climb the steps back into AF1,... what pudgy, ketchup-on-steak-eating 70-year-old could keep up?

Actually, quite a few.
Never mind.

even if he's had to fly out of town and attend meetings, I bet he's been able to rest in his hotel for several hours any time he felt like it. He's had drivers take him everywhere. He hasn't been responsible for others or for preparing his own food or laundry, taking care of a home and yard. Probably never used public transportation. The list goes on.

I don't blame him for being tired right now. But he's never known REAL fatigue.

2) Clinton endured 11 hours of tough questions before the Benghazi committee and emerged unscathed while making them look like morons.

The meltdown of this Administration is exacting a very high mental, emotional, physical toll on

so unsuited to the office is attempting to deal with its demands.

Age IS a factor. I remember having as much energy in my 40's as I did in my 20's, maybe more because I exercised more. I would work weeks on end, 18 hours a day, get little sleep and would never wear out. I remember wondering when does this age thing kick in because I never felt it. Believe me it does and it is startling (for me in my early 60's). I was impressed with both Hillary and Trump for their sustained campaigning. Do not underestimate the affect of age.

58. I used to have that kind of a schedule.
Mon May 22, 2017, 02:40 PM
May 2017

We raised three kids. We both worked. My kids are all two years apart, but the worst years were when all three of them were in different schools.

We both did our share. There were times when my husband had to be the person to take kids to doctor's appointments and get the dog out and to the vet. It was exhausting. But we shared and enjoyed each others' company, too.

Being younger did help. I could not keep that kind of a schedule now.

But Hillary did it, despite trump's criticisms, and the media jumping all over her for having walking pneumonia. She did it for years. She did it as an older person, too.

Trump is a hypocrite. But we all know that.

I hope you and your wife get a chance to relax in the near future.
