This is just a reminder that regardless of how many conflicts of interests Trump has, regardless of how blatantly supports tax cuts to the rich or cuts to the minimum, regardless of how often he puts out Nation's security at risk, there are many folks who still strongly support him.

In Washington, some people Democrats mainly are practically counting down the days left in Trump's presidency, as one stunning revelation quickly overruns another.
But outside the Beltway, where people aren't glued to cable TV for the latest on FBI Director James B. Comey's firing, or consumed with their Twitter feed for the latest on Trump divulging sensitive intelligence to Russia, there is hardly the same sense of urgency, much less crisis.
"Fake news," shrugged Bob Winninghoff, 84, a Republican who used to sell Fords for a living.
And although there have been some cracks in the wall of support for Trump, among Republicans in Washington as well as party faithful like Lord, people were still quick to hasten to their partisan corners Democrats saying we-told-you-so and Republicans crying witch hunt.

(575 posts)lt's only been 4 or 5 months.
Even with all the scandals, most people will stick by a President in his first year.
Those who keep talking to supporters and expecting any big shift are simply jumping the gun and as such, may make them dig in their heels even more.
People vote for someone believing in them. They want to wait and see and think the scandals are all inside the beltway stuff

(44,119 posts)Aren't clamoring for impeachment. Some folks stuck w Nixon to the end.
And that was before Fox News had its 24/7 sewage pipe of disinformation flowing into their living rooms.

(21,563 posts)losing that support requires people to admit they were wrong, a concept they cannot process in their heads. if drumpf took a shit on their dinner table, killed their puppy and raised their taxes to 100% right in front of their own eyes they would still call it "fake news".
