Gays, adoptions, & religious zealots that would like to rule America- the real taboo discussion
While zealots in Texas and others states are busy trying to make it impossible for anyone but a married heterosexual couple to adopt a baby there are the whispers you know... they spread the fear of entrusting children to anyone other than married heterosexuals. They preach out that the LGBT community is an abomination etc. Blah blah..trying to enforce their new sharia in America.
I would like to discuss what they are sweeping under the rug. The taboo they hide.
What you will find in closed societies and theocracies are monsters under the rug.
In any male dominated theocracy it is always the females that are hit hardest because they can become pregnant. If the male in power has been molesting his own daughter or even say it's an uncle raping his niece or something, then the victim will then be punished if she either gets pregnant or tries to get help. You would think the rest of the family would pitch in to help the distressed victim, but no they all pitch in to hide the stain of it..the shame of it..the taboo. The female is always blamed for her plight. Of course males children and males in weaker positions of authority are molested and raped too by married religious men that are in heterosexual marriages, but they don't get pregnant. How many times have mothers actually known their children were being molested by a father or a family member and turned a blind eye? It happens a lot more than people think.
While Saudi Arabia is in the news this is a good time to discuss these things. Why? Because they are a theocracy that has religious police and an authoritarian government. Something our right wing is rabidly trying to shove down our throats as they seek to turn America into a theocracy also. These theocracies and zealous environments are breeding grounds for the worst injustices because the victims are rendered powerless and cannot seek help. There is incest and rape going on in Saudi Arabia though it is swept under a rug and when it isn't the victim will be the accused and punished. Don't think the same thing can happen here? It already does. Religious zealots here pull away from society. They home school their kids. They send their kids to Bible camps. Some have formed closed communities & then that's when the real abuse begins. Children cannot get help if they are being abused. There is always some male who has the power & lording it over the females who are like voiceless hens. It is a breeding ground for incest , rape , and more. Soon they are forcing very young girls into marriage to creepy older men, etc. You get a bunch of people like Warren Jeffs running these places. These cults and nuts are out there and they are voting to ensure their rights to dominate and abuse in the name of God. They begin systematic religious brainwashing in a closed of society compound on these kids from the time they are born. They are no different than the Quran camps in Pakistan, so they shouldn't feel such a smug superiority.
So.. when people are trying to tell you the LGBT community is an abomination and a blight.. this is the kind of people pushing the envelope on that- religious zealots that are hiding monsters under their rugs.
They would like to paint loving gays as being monsters when in fact they are the ones with the taboo monsters hiding behind closed doors. They are the ones placing women in a position of subservience. They are the ones making it impossible for molested children to seek out help. They have plenty of sex that isn't heterosexual.. they just have it on unwitting victims that can't talk about it. Their happy little communities are full of taboo rapes and incest. They just hide it, deny it, and punish the victims.
The LGBT community is not monstrous. The people trying to take away their rights are.
