"If I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd taken better care of myself..."

Seventy-years of age is much older for some folks than others. For some, it is nearing the end of their life span. For others, it is only entering old age. Much depends on their previous lifestyles and heredity. It is different for different folks.

Simply because someone has made it to seventy does not mean they will make it to seventy-four. The President of the US is not in good health. His lack of exercise and his eating habits have taken their toll over the years. This is something all Americans should be concerned about.

I don't tend to watch the various award shows, but so glad HuffPO posted this video of her. If this doesn't get you out walking, eating better, keeping those health resolutions, nothing will. (and yes, I'm sure she's had "work" done and clearly has incredible genetics, but still.... fabulous!)

2. Your first paragraph is true. The second is speculation and contradicts the first.

We are not his immediate family or doctor so we don't really know what his health is. Look at someone like Churchill who never exercised, was very heavy, drank enormous amounts of hard liquor every day and smoked endlessly. He was leading the British people in WW II at Trump's age and went another 20 years. And yes, like any of us, Trump could leave this earth the next day.

I believe that was a quote of the jazz musician Eubie Blake who died a few days before his 100'th birthday.
I think I have figured out how old "old" is.. For me, it's 20 years older than I am right now. So when I was 10, somebody 30 was "old". When I was 50, somebody 70 was old.
Then again my 92 year old aunt was still running up and down her 4 th floor walk up till the day she died. Good genes, exercise and healthy eating was her mantra.. Yes there the exceptions with people smoking three packs of cigarettes a day, eating bacon for breakfast every morning and watching Oprah reruns all day but medical science is proving the opposite. Check out Blue Zones around the globe and see what those people do to extract quality and longevity.

The best health care is to take care of your health!! YMMV but it works for me...

4. Genetics also has a major part to play. I'm falling apart and I'm not even 50.

And I did all the right things.

But, here I am with my dad's crippling arthritis & heart disease, and my mother's chronic depression.

Diet, exercise, not smoking and drinking are good and helpful, but they only kept me healthy until about 40.

After that, it's been hell.
