Not Just Trump -It's Sr WH officials, PLURAL, asking around about getting the FBI to drop the probe.

In addition to the requests to Coats and Rogers, senior White House officials sounded out top intelligence officials about the possibility of intervening directly with Comey to encourage the FBI to drop its probe of Michael Flynn, Trump’s former national security adviser, according to people familiar with the matter. The officials said the White House appeared uncertain about its power to influence the FBI.

“Can we ask him to shut down the investigation? Are you able to assist in this matter?” one official said of the line of questioning from the White House.

WH gang would have had to be 20 or older at the time for it to make an impression.
Spicer is supposed to be 35, bout same age as Ivanka and Kushner, and you know how dumb THEY are.
Trump does not have a habit of having really smart people around him.
I bet you that at the point of loaded gun, they could not tell you why exactly Nixon earned impeachment threats.
At the most it would be "Nixon-resigned-impeachment maybe"

Hubris is very thick with these idjits.

and indelible.

I should think that the resignation of Nixon also left an impression on high school kids.

When it happened, I was only aware of my family's reaction, and they would be Trump supporters today if they were alive.

There are a lot of feeling the same way. I still alternate between anger and sadness, but I don't think there will be anything else that is surprising.

...remembers the events of '73 and Nixon's resignation in '74. This is a moment in our political history that will be remembered and compared to Nixon and his attempt to quell the investigation into his malfeasance. The parallels are all too common to be happenstance IMO.

the prez. and the GOP are sure acting like criminals. Time to name names and prosecute all the way down the line until some random precinct captain is next in line for president.

Doesn't seem to me like they were uncertain. In fact, tRump was so certain that he accosted Comey on at least three separate occasions to tell him to drop it.

We should ask, "Why such a massive conspiracy to hide connections to Russia? ANSWER: Because there was collusion, making Trump guilty of hacking the DNC.

Just like Watergate, it starts with the break-in. This time the idiots had the hubris to think they could release the hacked info without getting caught. Beyond idiotic.

live by them.

They all, Trump and his Republicans, are desperate to deplete and steal the entire Treasury while they have control.

They are now regarding the United States as a conquered Third World country, with spoils to be looted and divvied up, leaving a population impoverished, weakened, and demoralized.

If this Grand Theft requires perjury, bribery, lying to all Americans, and treason, then that is what shall be embraced.

It really is that simple.

Follow the money. It is their true God.
