(6,916 posts)Just except for the "not X, not Y, not Z" at the beginning. Avoid "Don't think of an elephant", as Lakoff says.
Start with the truth.
Note the lie/error.
End with the truth.
Except for that one clause this is a great post.

(9,090 posts)--- in indiana ND broadcasts sports on 6 limbaugh stations and even the local blowhard on my limbaugh station in NM gave 2 hours to attacking those ND protestors
in indiana 3 unis support 11 limbaugh stations and they all spew shit all day for the last 30 years that is totally antithetical to their lofty mission statements touting their respect for social justice tolerance and compassion

(23,297 posts)These graduates will remember their act of peaceful protest for the rest of their lives...far longer than whatever drivel Mike Pence said. Congratulations ND class of 2017!

(12,448 posts)Good for them for making it. And good for the students who walked out with class and dignity.

(62,401 posts)Based on my knowledge of Catholicism and Notre Dame, Pence should be anathema to what ND stands for. Almost like ND having Lucifer as their speaker.
More and more so-called religious and Christian are more than sell out everything they espouse to get a fleeting touch of power and wealth.
Every graduate that walked out should receive a thank letter from the board of directors of ND thanking them for standing up for what were once ND's reasons for being. That letter should also say the board now resolves to bring the school back in line with its beliefs.

(62,401 posts)and the religious desire to get in on the goodies, to me, has exposed the religious as not giving one hoot about morality and caring only about power and money.
But if you think about it, religions have always been about having some {magic} power over ordinary humans.
It is just that in this case the circumstances expose that they are only about power and money.
